Mohave County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue Units were deployed Sunday (10/29) afternoon to a paraglider that crashed near the Interstate 40 and Highway 95. At about 4:45 p.m., SAR Lake Havasu City members responded to the area. SAR members located the pilot of the paraglider who had some visible abrasions. The pilot said he was trying to take off and was about ten feet up off the ground when the wind shifted, which blew him to the ground. His family was nearby watching and they had called for help. The pilot was transported for a medical evaluation. The FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) and NTSB (National Transportation Safety Board) have been notified.
