PRESS RELEASE: MCSO Waterway Deputies & DPS Helicopter Assist Havasu Boater

Posted on Friday, December 9th, 2016 at 2:58 PM

Mohave County Sheriff’s Waterways deputies responded to overdue boaters on Lake Havasu Thursday (12/8) evening. Apparently, two adult female subjects left the Havasu Landing Casino on a boat and their boat broke down in the North Basin area at approximately 6:30 p.m. as they were traveling to the North Channel. The female subjects called Vessel Assist who responded and could not locate them. At about 10:00 p.m., the Sheriff’s Office Dispatch was called by a friend of theirs who was reporting them missing. Waterway deputies responded to the area on Lake Havasu and were unable to locate them. Deputies attempted to call their cell phones, but their phone batteries were dead. With the assistance of Department of Public Safety Ranger Helicopter, the missing subjects were located about 3:00 a.m. Friday (12/9) morning in the mouth of the river. The female subjects were okay. They were towed back by Vessel Assist.
