PRESS RELEASE: Human Remains Transported to Lake Havasu City Medical Examiners Office and Identified

Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies and detectives responded to a call of human remains that had been located in the desert Thursday (8/18) afternoon. Approximately 4:15 p.m., deputies responded to the Mt Trumbull area and met with the reporting party, a BLM Officer.

The BLM Officer said they were in the area and they came across human remains.

The Mohave County Medical Examiner’s recovered the human remains and transported them to Lake Havasu City Medical Examiner’s Office.

An autopsy was conducted on Tuesday (8/23) and the Medical Examiner determined the identity through medical records.

The remains were identified as David Corey Heisler, 30, of Santa Clara, Utah, who was reported missing in late June of 2016.

This case remains active as a joint investigation with Santa Clara Ivins Police Department as a possible homicide. Cause of death is still to be determined.

    Sorry but what is BLM officer.. tragic to hear about anyone having to be put into a situation like this alone and God knows what. May this person rest in peace..

      Thank god they at least have the suspects arrested. Wow 3 people, I’m so glad he was found. It’s so sad and unfortunate but unanswered questions are the worst

    It’s such a tragedy to have people come here, not knowing of the dangers out there, especially just making sure to have enough water to stay hydrated well enough to not get yourself into trouble. Prayers for the family and friends of the man.
