Posted on Thursday, November 6th, 2014 at 6:11 PM

Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies responded to an emergency landing of an aircraft early Wednesday (11/5) afternoon approximately 20 miles east of Lake Havasu City. At about 12:30 p.m., deputies responded to the natural gas pipe line road off of Planet Ranch Road where a pilot performed an emergency landing of a Beechcraft Bonanza aircraft. The pilot and single occupant, Thomas Buffalo of Colorado, was flying his aircraft to California when the plane’s engine went idle due to a fuel pump going out. Buffalo observed the pipeline road where he landed his plane. During the landing, the plane hit a soft patch of sand which pulled the plane into a Joshua tree where a wing was torn off the plane. The pilot was not injured. (no photos are available)

The FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) and NTSB (National Transportation Safety Board) have been notified.
