The Lake Havasu City Fire Department is offering child and babysitting safety classes to children 11-15 years of age. Each class is eight hours long, taught for four hours a day over a two-day period, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. There are available openings on June 27-28, June 29-30 and July 11-12.
Whether kids watch their younger siblings, baby-sit with help from a friend, are seasoned babysitters, or are alone at home, this class will provide valuable information. Lessons include babysitting as a business, safety and injury prevention, leadership, play time, basic care-giving skills and first aid.
There is a $30 non-refundable fee and pre-registration is required by a parent or legal guardian. Registration is open until classes are full, and can be done at City Hall, 2330 McCulloch Boulevard North from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
