At approximately 3:28pm on Tuesday, March 8th, 2016, a fire was reported by the occupants of a mobile home in the 4000 block of Blue Canyon RD. The occupants discovered smoke coming from the side of their home. The first arriving fire company reported smoke and flames coming from under the mobile home and up the side. The fire had spread into the interior of the home. Three Engine Companies, one Truck Company, and a Battalion Chief responded to the incident and gained control of the fire in 19 minutes. The occupants evacuated the home safely. There were no reported injuries to the firefighters. CERT responded to the fire with eight volunteers to assist with Rehab duties for the firefighters. Crews remained on the scene an additional two hours conducting salvage operations. Damages were confined to the front of mobile home and were estimated at $35,000.00. The fire was caused by discarded smoking materials.
