At approximately 6:54 pm on Wednesday, March, 16th, 2016, a Propane BBQ grill explosion was reported by the neighbors in the 1800 block of Biscayne Lane. The neighbors and then occupants reported that their BBQ exploded and there were possibly two injured persons. The first arriving fire company reported no fire, significant damage to the patio area, and one injured person. Three Engine Companies, one Truck Company, and a Battalion Chief responded to the incident. The occupants evacuated the area safely. There were no reported injuries to the firefighters. One injured occupant was transported to the Havasu Regional Medical Center via ambulance. A fire investigator was called in and remained on the scene an additional hour. Damages were confined to the rear patio area and damages were estimated at approximately $11,000. The cause of the explosion is under investigation.
