Posted on Wednesday, June 1st, 2016 at 12:30 PM

We reported on yesterday evening’s fatality accident, and promised to bring the press release when it became available…

Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a single vehicle off-road accident in the area of Bison Boulevard, approximately 1/2 mile outside of city limits Tuesday (5/31) evening. At about 10:14 p.m., deputies responded to the scene of where a UTV attempted to negotiate a mountain trail, but the driver misjudged the difficulty and rolled off the side of the mountain. The driver, Allan Michael Kruis, 60, of Lake Havasu City, was deceased at the scene from possible head trauma. The passenger, Evan Tucker, a juvenile and Kruis’s grandson was ejected and sustained minor injuries.

Lake Havasu Fire Department personnel, MCSO Search and Rescue members and the Medical Examiner responded. LHFD conducted a rope rescue of Tucker and transported him to Havasu Regional Medical Center. MCSO SAR assisted the Medical Examiner in recovering Kruis. This accident remains under investigation.

I just found out about this accident. Allen was my neighbor, right next door. His wife and son just came to my house to let me know what had happened. Allen and I spoke to each other quite a few times. I’m so saddened for his family and friends. When she told me that Allen was killed, I felt so much hurt in my chest, wanted to cry.
