Mohave County Sheriff’s waterways deputies responded to an injury boating accident that occurred on Lake Havasu near Site Six on Tuesday (3/8) morning. Approximately 11:00 am, deputies responded to the scene. The injured victim, identified as Michael Bauer, 66, of South Dakota was transported to Havasu Regional Medical Center where he was later airlifted to University Medical Center in Las Vegas. Investigations determined that a 2013 20-foot pontoon boat, operated by Fred Korevec, 53, of Alaska, was traveling west across the lake when it struck a 2002 15-foot aluminum boat that was traveling north across the lake towards Site Six from the California side. The crash was a “T-bone” type of collision. During the impact, the front of the pontoon boat struck Bauer’s boat. Korevec was not injured. There no signs of impairment to either operator. The investigation is on-going.

Nobody on the lake on Tuesday morning, and these two morons can’t keep from crashing into one another. Just because you can afford a boat, doesn’t mean you should have one.
