Havasu Scanner Feed does not typically cover incidences which occur outside Lake Havasu City limits – however due to several requests by the community, we reached out to Department of Public Safety (DPS) for more information. This is what we learned:

Sunday June 26th between 11 PM and Midnight Department of Public Safety and local emergency personnel responded to a head-on collision at I-40 and Mile Marker 10 just outside Pilot involving a pickup truck vs. semi. The driver of the pickup truck, 63-year-old Ralph Salazar out of Lake Havasu City was pronounced deceased. The driver of the semi was 43-year-old Jeffrey Urick out of Lake Havasu City, treated at Kingman Regional Medical Center for his injuries.

Driver was arrested in march of 2016 for DUI and sentenced to several years in prison. Why did the judge release him?
