Found body finally confirmed as that of James Gunnell

The Lake Havasu City Police Department has identified the body that was found near the end of Oro Grande Boulevard in the Chesapeake Wash, on October 4, 2014 as that of 18-year old James Gunnell. DNA testing played a critical part in completing the identification of James.

James was reported missing by family members on August 1, 2014 after he had not been seen or heard from in several days. On October 4, 2014 a citizen reported to police that a deceased person was found in the desert area. The Lake Havasu City Police Department Criminal Investigations Bureau conducted the investigation. The cause of death is still under investigation by the police department.
