Posted on Monday, July 25th, 2016 at 4:18 PM

Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a fatal motorcycle accident on Oatman Highway, at milepost 2.4, Saturday (7/23) morning.  Approximately 6:19 a.m., deputies responded to the scene of where a passerby reported seeing a motorcycle in the dirt and a subject not moving.  Upon arrival, deputies observed a deceased male subject, later identified as Daniel Robert Smith, 50, of Lake Havasu City.  Investigations determined the motorcycle went off the roadway into the dirt shoulder after it failed to negotiate a turn traveling southbound.  The motorcycle then hit the dirt embankment where Smith was thrown from the motorcycle. Smith was wearing a half-helmet which sustained damage to it.  Further investigation as to the time of death and causes are still pending as it appeared Smith may have crashed Friday (7/22) evening and due to the area, no one reported seeing the crash or the motorcycle until the next morning.  Speed does not appear to be a factor.  The motorcycle was towed from the scene.

We still need more help financially. Lynn and her mother in law have no income at this time. I would like to set up a community carwash soon. Im going to ask my boss if we can do it here at Jacks. I would need help from volunteers.

Just saw this Jennifer Ann Claflin…. If it is on a Sunday, my son and I would love to help out! We met through Facebook and I’ve been texting her off and on the last couple of months… Talked to her the morning after his accident and told her how awesome Havasu is and willing to help out a person in need.
