Desert Rescue

Engine 3, truck 1 and Battalion Chief are assisting a patient experiencing chest pains currently in the area of Mockingbird Wash – Sara Park. The call was dispatched in the 0900 HR.

Medical aid was provided for a hiker experiencing a medical emergency about 1.25 miles into the desert. Fire personnel removed the individual by utilizing a wheeled stokes basket.

SAFETY TIP: When planning outdoor activities such as mountain biking or hiking be sure to have a working communication device with a full battery in the event of emergencies. Regardless of your age accidents can and will happen. Your cell phone may prove to be your lifeline!
