[DELAYED] SWAT Activity on Winston Circle

Posted on Tuesday, September 27th, 2016 at 10:45 AM

Around the midnight hour Lake Havasu City Police Department was dispatched to Winston Circle regarding a person involved in an argument with family members and discharged a firearm inside the residence. The two family members were able to exit the residence safely and the armed subject remained inside. The SWAT team responded to the scene and negotiated for several hours. A single gunshot was later heard within the residence and up entry SWAT found the subject deceased from a self inflicted gunshot wound.

Our condolences to family and friends of the deceased.

So sad. Too much crime and things like this in our once peaceful little town.

It just seems to be happening everywhere. I feel terrible that people come to the point in their life that they feel there is no other choice.

So you **DO** have a SWAT team here! (Relieved). We just moved here in Jan. of this year. I was told LHCP has no police K-9s, No police horses, NEVER hear or see a police helicopter – the hospital here has NO “IV team” (but I still love the ER staff), and the streets basically close up around 9:00PM. Not knowing squat about how big Lake Havasu is, I was worried that there was no SWAT team either.

Where we came from, the police helicopter was over almost every night (I even knew by the sound of the blades which agency it was), police horses and K-9’s were abundant, and SWAT incidents were “normal.”

Sorry about whatever happened to bring the SWAT team out – and no offense – I’m so glad I wasn’t nearby. I fully support all LEOs and the SWAT team (who protected us once in another city), but that flash bang thing is something I never want to feel go through my body again. I think it exploded some of my intestines out, or maybe sucked some of the air from my lungs. Thank you all for your service, and bringing the incident to a peaceful end.

Surrounding agencies sometimes provide mutual aid with resources that LHCPD may not have in house.

First of all LHC PD, DOES NOT NEED THAT . THEY ARE THE ONES STEALING DRUGS OUT OF EVIDENCE AND SELLING THEM . THEY ARE THE ONES SHOOTING PEOPLE LEFT AND RIGHT CHECK OUT YOU TUBE (Lake haves officer involved shooting Devon Scott) they LIKE OTHER REAL POLICE DEPT SHOULDN’T HAVE FAMILY MEMBERS IN THE SAME DEPT? Conflict of interests so YOU MUST KNOW THEIR UNDER INVESTIGATION ALL THE WHILE LETTING THE COP STAY IN MASS ON 48 FELONY COUNTS AND HE DIDN’T ACT ALONE . do the research they are corrupt.
