(DELAYED) High Speed Chase of Suicidal Subject

Posted on Wednesday, February 21st, 2018 at 2:57 AM

During the 9 pm hour PD was advised of a call into LHCPD dispatch by a juvenile that parents were physical.

The mother got on the phone with dispatch call taker and advised the child(ren) and her escaped the location to a neighboring residence. The female advised the male was attempting to stab himself in the neck with a fork.

As officers went into the area one saw a vehicle leaving at a high rate of speed and blow through a stop sign. The officer caught up with the vehicle and the license plate given and vehicle description matched that if the suspect.

A high speed chase ensued northbound on the highway ranging 70 to 90 miles per hour, with complete disregard for stop lights near the area of retail center and the airport.

Officers requested dispatch contact ADOT DPS. The corporal on duty called out for officers to terminate pursuit at City limits. DPS was entering Highway 95 from the 40 at that moment, and was able to stop the vehicle. LHCPD officers then continued forward to provide backup to the DPS officer.
