At 5:06 PM the Mohave County Sheriffs Office along with their on-board River Medical EMT were dispatched 1 mile south of Topock for a report of a single vessel that ran ashore the Arizona side. Upon arrival deputies located the boat, identified as a Cabin Cruzer, on shore. The boat was occupied by a male and female. The female had been ejected from the rear of the boat into the front cabin and had become entrapped. Emergency responders freed her and loaded her onto a River Medical boat that was dispatched to the scene, where MCSO escorted the RMI boat to Sandbar where an awaiting Careflight Helicopter was waiting, and flew her to Vegas in stable condition but with severe injuries. The male was unharmed in the accident.
Alcohol does not appear to be a factor, however the accident investigation is still underway.
