Posted on Monday, March 21st, 2016 at 4:59 PM

On Saturday, March 19th at approximately 8:20 PM – 5 unknown black male subjects committed theft at Big 5 (251 S. Lake Havasu Ave.) by stealing numerous clothing, backpacks, .22 caliber ammunition, and shoes passing all points of sale without paying for the items.

This was an organized retail theft – not a robbery.

Theft is taking something that doesn’t belong to you, but a robbery is taking something from a person and using force, or the threat of force, to do it. Robbery, like theft, involves taking someone’s property without the owner’s consent, but it has some elements that theft doesn’t require.

Thanks for the info. I actually know the difference, but was just being a bit sarcastic. They are theives no matter what method they used. Glad no one was hurt.
